When I bought the boots, I did it because I like the look... the steel toe nipped at my left pinky toe just enough to be annoying. So, I removed the steel toes and then they became heavenly boots.. I could go for a run in them. Honestly, the should make a soft toe version because the true comfort is without the steel toe.
