Grunge Shoes

I had already owned a pair of these in brown and wanted to get a pair in black. The shoes are very comfortable and good for wearing all day. I have read other reviews about how the sole splits after not very long, but I can't say that's happened to me. I've had my brown pair for 2 years now and the soles look great. As for warmth, I think they do a decent enough job, but might do a little better. Like I said earlier, they are very comfortable. I do recommend these shoes.

I like these a lot. They fit great. They are real leather, though, so don't expect to put them on and wear them all day first time. Break them in a bit first. However, they look great, fit true to size, appear well made, and after wearing them just to walk the dogs or go to the store for a bit, they are starting to fit themselves to my feet, which is what I'd expect from good shoes. I didn't rate them for water resistance, because I didn't get them wet yet.

I bought a pair of these earlier this year. Didn't wear them too much over the summer, but as the weather got colder and wetter I started using them regularly. Very comfortable and reasonably waterproof. ie: they're good up to about 2" (maybe a little less) puddle. After that the water gets up to the tongue and will get in where the the stitching ends. They were also good in the snow up to 4" or so.
I decided to get a second pair for when the first pair wear out. These days companies (especially clothing and shoes) change the style/manufacture of their products so often that you find the "replacements" for what you want to no longer meet your expectations.
Overall, comfortable, pretty watertight (within reason) and at a decent price. Pretty much sums it up.

Nothing better than boots that fit comfortably right out of the box! I'm a firm believer that if you have to "break in" a boot, it isn't a proper fit. When you can put them on out of the box, and virtually forget you're wearing them while slogging through spring rains, you've chosen well, grasshopper.

Bought these for sightseeing in rainy/snow cities, seems to be very good for that. Have had them about 2 months, used to tour multiple cities and to/from work wear. No water penetration or durability issues. Yes they scuff, no they are not meant to be work boots. Buy the right gear for your purposes.

These boots are decent. They are not the most comfortable however and break apart with a lot of wear. If you are looking for work boots, these will not last and will be fairly uncomfortable. They provide somewhat decent support but the sole is not great to say the least. I only wear them to dress nice for the day. I wouldn’t wear these to work if you walk/move all day though.

As soon as i opened the box to look at these boots i knew right away that these weren't heavy duty work boots.
But that's fine, that's not what i ordered.
I think many reviewers here made the mistake of thinking these were going to be as durable as boots made by other well known brands costing more than twice the price.
But for the money these are great!!!!!
They're super comfortable right out of the box, they're light, and they look great!!!

I am going to be wearing these just for inclement weather in the fall, winter and early spring, if i get two years out of them i will be happy.

I cannot yet report on how water proof they are, but judging from the other reviews i'm sure they will be fine.
I'm still going to apply a nice layer of mink oil on them.

So, if these cost the same as some of the other expensive brands, they'd be going back, but at this price they're perfect!!!!

These boots are amazing. I've worn them working as a tour guide in Alaska during the summer and here I'm Chicago during the rainy/snowy seasons. You can wear them year round. They'll keep your feet cool and dry during the summer, and warm and dry during the winter. They fit as expected the first pair I got was a 10.5 which was just a tiny bit narrow (I have flat feet). The 2nd pair I ordered a 10 W and they fit perfect. If you have wide or flat feet go down a size and get a Wide fit. If not, order your regular size. My first pair lasted 2 years no upkeep, which I eventually destroyed paintballing. Yes, they're great for that too. This 2nd pair will last at least 5 years with minimal upkeep, maybe just waterproofing again somewhere down the line.

I have a delivery job and I do a lot of walking every day. We have requirements for what kind of shoes we can wear, such as no mesh. Although these have a little bit of mesh it's not enough to matter. They are very comfortable, have really good tread still, pretty lightweight compared to others, and has enough breathe-ability to be good in warmer temperatures. I'm typically a size 9.5 in mens. I ordered 9.5 and they fit fine but are slightly too big by probably .5. I could have tried to get 9's but 9.5 is good for me. Especially if it's colder and I need to wear thicker socks, I could use the bit of extra space. They're not too big so that I can't move well or quickly if I have to. I've ran in them and they work fine. I just have to make sure they're tied tight enough. I am tempted to order another pair for when these get worn out down the road.

When I first put them on, they were pretty uncomfortable. I then added the insoles from a pair of old running shoes, and that helped a great deal. The uppers seem very inflexible, digging into my ankles enough to hurt a little, but not enough to cause bruising or soreness after I take them off (even if I've worn them for several hours). Hopefully this is something that goes away as they get completely broken in.

Update 3 months in: the break-in issues went away, and they are now very comfortable boots. Unfortunately, they were also equipped with the cheapest laces ever, and have broken already. That qualifies as a really stupid miss on the QC.

I have been very impressed with these shoes. I work I.T. at a company which requires I wear casual clothes. After months of searching, I narrowed down to this boot and have been completely satisfied. I wear them 5 days a week through snow, rain, and sun. I am constantly crawling around desks, through basements and all the nooks and crannies of the buildings I service. I also walk several miles a day between buildings. They have held up very well and are quite comfortable. The scuffs have turned into a nice "worn-in" look so I don't look like a hobo walking into executive offices.
I was extremely impressed with how well these keep water out. I went out in a torrential downpour, sloshing through standing water, completely expecting to come home with wet socks, but was pleasantly surprised to find they were completely dry.
If I had to change one thing, it would be the laces. While they have held up, I don't give them much more time before I anticipate them starting to fray. They are very soft.

I recently wore another set of boots after a few years of hard use so I bought these. Slightly different but overall the same as my old pair. The fit is great. They are very comfortable. Clean look that suits my style. Construction seems comparable to my old set so I know they will last through some hard use. The only drawback I would give them is the laces that came with mine are too long. They could have made them a good 2 inches shorter and it would have been better. I will likely pick up a different set of laces.
