Trends, just come and go. They don’t stay here forever. In our opinion, trendy pieces are just going to be out of style in only 3 to 6 months anyway.
Trends affect clothing. Many people are swayed to buy trendy fashion items because of the hype surrounding them. Many of them don’t even love it or know when and where they will use them.
Everyone has their own opinions on what they like and what they don’t. As long as you are comfortable and confident in what you wear, it doesn’t matter to anyone if you love it.
However, some fashion trends are going wrong but still works great. Here’s what you need to learn and understand the basics of fashion and style.
Let’s Get Started!
1) Corduroy
If you are a big fan of this trendy stuff, then it is something you might like to wear. Ever once in life, if you try one of these corduroy items, then it will become your new obsession.
If you have worn corduroy in a seventies fashion style, then it can age you. To make you stylish while making you look young, the trick is to make sure the cut and style are modern.
Corduroy is emerging as a big style for fall, popping up on pants, jackets, and accessories too.
It will never go out of style, and it looks good in so many different kinds of wardrobes. You can spice it up with a cord jacket along with black jeans, chinos, and white tee.
2) Short-Sleeved Shirts
When the warm weather hits, it’s always good to have the option of short-sleeved shirts. This item deserves a permanent place in your wardrobe.
Short-sleeved shirts were considered formal in the 1950s, but now it is not acceptable for formal occasions.
You should avoid wearing a tie while wearing short-sleeved shirts.
It’s like a more casual outfit rather than traditional. If you love to wear short-sleeved shirts, try it in a lightweight fabric material and Cuban collar design.
You can also pair it up with chinos and jeans. It’s a fantastic option for a relaxed and casual look.
3) Double Denim
Your top and bottom halves’ respective shades should be different enough to look like you are wearing some kind of uniform.
Matching is acceptable in other forms like a suit.
As long as the colors and tone don’t match the denim you are wearing, double denim is not really that bad.
It will look good if your leg-wear is darker and the upper part you wear is kinda lighter colors. You can rock your body with dark blue jeans and a light jacket or a white tee and shirt.
4) White Socks
Everything has its time and place, and it merely applies to certain clothing pieces such as white socks that go past the ankles. These white socks have become a trend without any reason.
White socks are usually meant for gym workouts or morning jogging.
We suggest you avoid white socks with office wear and suits. People will predict that you have forgotten to change your socks after a workout.
Wear dark socks that match your dress shoes and trousers for formal functions.
5) Fire Department Jackets
These jackets are not seen as true men’s fashion. It’s okay as a profession, and we respect it, but these jackets are not a fashion sensation.
Unless you work in a fire department, it’s good to avoid these flashy neon jackets.
We would suggest you focus on other clothing styles rather than these jackets. Invest in classic, timeless pieces so that they will stay with you for a long time.
We want to express our utmost respect to the people working in the fire departments. We thank you for your contributions.
6) High Cut Shorts
We think that shorts should end just above the knee or a little higher. If you want to go a few inches above the knee, that’s completely fine too.
Typically men’s shorts should be an average of 8-9 inches long, and for not-so-tall guys, they look best in 7 inches shorts. But nowadays, shorter shorts have become a trend.
If your shorts fit you properly, then you are going to look great. Focus on the fit that suits your body type to make you feel comfortable.
7) Cowboy Boots
Everybody knows the history of cowboy boots and their place. These boots are a great fashion choice because they can help the person wearing them feel more confident, and unique.
But do they work for all events that include formal and informal settings?
Actually, it’s a NO.
It is not acceptable for formal occasions. Just because it is trendy, you cannot break the fashion rules. Cowboy boots are great for country dances and parties.
These boots are expensive and stylish. Ensure you invest in it if you live in those areas where these boots are commonly worn for various occasions only.
8) Tie-Dye Clothes
Back in the time of the ’90s, these tie-dye clothes were popular. And after a very long time, it made a remarkable comeback in 2020. Now, lots of people have stuck into a home experiment with tie-dying.
Most people genuinely like tie-dye clothes; either they are following the trend or just like it.
You can wear it to the pool, beach or for weekend parties. You will look relaxed and comfortable, and maybe people will give you more compliments.
9) The Neck Wallet
We didn’t find neck wallets fashionable back over 15-20 years ago and will still feel that these will never be a style sensation.
A neck wallet is a convenient item that helps keep your cash, credit cards, IDs, and passports.
You can wear it under your shirt, and no one can see it. Keep the slung in front of your body so that it will be easy to get access to your wallet.
However, there are always downsides. The neck wallet is still not overly stylish. These wallets sometimes pull against your neck and become uncomfortable. Your neck will also feel bulky.
10) Oversized Double Breasted Jacket
Double-breasted jackets are great, and we also love them. They let you stand from the crowd. Add a piece if you already don’t have one.
In today’s time, the double-breasted jacket should fit properly on your shoulders without being oversized.
If you are not sure about the right size for a double-breasted jacket, then you can start with single-breasted jackets so that it will be easy for you to identify your size.
CONCLUSION
Sometimes you need to know that specific trends are not suitable for most settings and situations. Everyone follows trends, and everyone wants to look great.
Always prioritize style rather than fashion because fashion trends come and go. Still, the style will be forever staying with you.
Which of the fashion trends you don’t like but still works great in 2024?
Do you think that these trends will stand for a longer time?
